| Abstract | Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar a viabilidade de utilização do Sistema LANDSAT na avaliação da degradação das pastagens, com o tempo de ocupação, no município de Paragominas (PA). Foram também analisados os fatores naturais (solo, topografia, clima e cobertura vegetal) que poderiam condicionar esse processo de degradação. Para a realização do trabalho foram empregadas técnicas de analise visual e automática de imagens LANDSAT, coleta de informações de campo, analise de laboratório e tratamento estatístico dos dados. Os resultados demonstraram que os dados do Sistema LANDSAT são úteis para o controle do processo de degradação das pastagens na Amazônia. Abstract The objective of this study was to investigate the feasibility of using Landsat system in evaluating the degradation of pastures, with a time of occupation, in the municipality of Paragominas (PA). Natural factors were also analyzed (soil, topography, climate and land cover) that could condition this process of degradation. To carry out the work were techniques of visual and automatic analysis of Landsat images, collection of field information, laboratory analysis and statistical processing of data. The results showed that the system of Landsat data are useful for control of pasture degradation process in the Amazon. | |||
